Fairly average women in prison flick - 3 out of 5 (1/28/2002)
CAGED HEAT was known in its day as the best sexploitation film of 1974. In
these days of sex crazed women in prison movies, it doesn't hold a candle,
but it still holds a small place in history as the first film of one of the
best directors of today's era.
The story of CAGED HEAT is one of the stranger ones to come from the Corman
studios. Jonathan Demme started as a unit publicist for new Concorde
studios; Demme asked Roger Corman if he could have the money and the
